Some people say this is a weaker follow-up to The Inner-Mounting Flame. I say, this is more musical, more accessible, more essential, and a true masterpiece!!!!

Between Nothingness and Eternity (1973)

Apocalypse (1974)

John McLaughlin dumps his whole band and gains a new one. Of course, this isn't as utterly splendid as the previous albums, but this is still good music.

Overall Album Score: 8.8 out of 10

Album Tilt: 8.5
Artist Tilt: 9.0

Visions of the Emerald Beyond (1974)

Some more of that instrumental vitruosity and some weirdness thrown in for good measure.
