Brief album summaries:

From Genesis to Revelation (1969)

It's not the most explosive debut in rock and roll history, but at least it's more interesting than falling asleep at the opera.

Overall Album Score: 7.0 out of 10

Average Song Score: 7.4

From Genesis to Revelation to My Bed

Trespass (1970)

Alright! After that debut that made Pete Gabriel and the rest of the proto-Genesis clan look like Moody Blues boot lickers, we get our first legit Prog Rock album! Which is fully equipped with long songs and stuff like that.

Overall Album Score: 8.1 out of 10

Average Song Score: 8.3

Smelling England By the Pound

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (1974)

Genesis lays everything on the line and comes up with one of the most bloated rock operas that ever existed. Oddly enough, it's actually pretty good! Peter Gabriel leaves Genesis with a BANG.

Overall Album Score: 9.3 out of 10

And Then There Were Three (1978)

Hmm... This is the first Genesis album that I am overall bored with. Steve Hackett leaves the band, and Peter Gabriel's influence continues to decline!

Wow! I decided to revisit your page, and what surprises awaited me! An album I never even heard of: "We Can't Dance"! And reading your review of it revealed that you are just 20-something! And by the way, Henrik mispelled "powerful," too!

And why would I care? A lady doesn't tell her age, but let's just say that I was in high school in the early 70's, when the band was still in its progressive rock glory. I LOVED this band, and I still love the good stuff from before Peter left the group. I saw them perform several times, and even got them all to autograph my copy of "Trepass." I hate it that some people think the band is defined by their "Then There Were Three" era drivel. (And that your generation thinks of the Beatles as "the group Paul McCartney was in before Wings," but that's another story.)

Okay! You appreciate the good stuff; you're okay. I don't hold your youth against you. And I don't really know why I'm writing all this, except to say: this is a great band! Keep telling your friends about "Selling England By the Pound" and their other great stuff. Thanks!

Now...have you ever heard of Triumvirat?

Don Ignacio Responds:

Hi, Sandy! Thank you for sending your nice comments! And thanks for revisiting the page!

I have actually heard of Triumvirat ... I've listened to a few of their songs a few months ago, too. ... But I can't really tell you how much I like them yet. They seemed a little overpretentious to me, but that was just a first impression.

Great information! But, where can I find guitar scores of Genesis' musics?

Don Ignacio responds: I dunno!
